  • Hi Dave. The cards need to be greater than 128gb to prevent the multiple small (4gb) file creation issue, see page 360 of manual. This applies to camera formatting. Perhaps the cards can be formatted to exFat outside of camera, probably not a good idea because next time you’d format in camera it would be back to fat32.

  • Actually, page 76 is a little less ambiguous, an sdxc card, say 64gb, will be formatted in exFat. Of course if shooting C4K you may prefer to use CF, in which case, get a 256gb card or live with the smaller files.

    One small benefit of the small files is that if disaster strikes writing the last file, the previous files are there, whereas with one big file it could be more problematic.
