I picked up the LG 34WK95U-W used in B&Hs used dept for $1050, the person before me only used it for 4 hours. I feel like I got a great deal.
Compared to my last LG ultrawide, this one is not curved so it took my brain about 2 days to get used to a flat display again.
I have noticed that the blacks are a little richer on this one compared to my old LG 34UC97-S 34. As for colors, they seem very similar to my old one (perhaps because I calibrated both with the same gear.)
The reason I got this one was to view my 4k videos in a true 1 to 1 ratio (within Resolve) so not to be confused by any scaling issue that might happen like moire (my old monitor which could not do 4k). Now that I have a fairly color accurate monitor that is wide and can display 4k videos while I edit I feel like I don’t need a second reference 4k monitor that cost and arm and leg.
See that attached image, you can see how Delta E is max 1.32 which is very good and the sRGB gamut is very high.
LG Monitor On Screen Settings for calibration:
Monitor: LG 34WK95U-W 12/18
Smart Energy Savings: OFF
Display port version: 1.4
Local Dimming: OFF
Picture Mode: sRGB
Brightness: 26 out of 100 (120cd/m2.)
Auto Brightness: OFF
The only complaint I have has nothing to do with LG but Blackmagic and perhaps Microsoft. My last LG monitor worked great for icons and text, but this one with the resolution so high has an issue using Resolve at the recommended 150% scaling, the text within Resolves GUI is slightly blurry. Hopefully Blackmagic will work on for right now I am using Windows Override high DPI scaling behavior issue.
If anyone has found a solution to the blurry text at 150% scaling please let me know.
